Anthropic is releasing their new language model called Mistral Large, which is their most advanced model to date. Mistral Large achieves strong results on common benchmarks, ranking it as the second most capable model generally available through an API. Mistral Large has new capabilities like being natively fluent in 5 languages, having a large context window, and capable of precise instruction following. Anthropic is making Mistral Large available through their platform called La Plateforme as well as through Microsoft Azure. In addition to Mistral Large, Anthropic is releasing a new optimized model called Mistral Small focused on latency and cost. Benchmark results show Mistral Large has powerful reasoning abilities and outperforms other models on common sense, knowledge, and multi-lingual tests. Mistral Large also shows top performance on coding and math tasks according to various benchmarks. Anthropic is simplifying their endpoint offerings to include open access models and the new Mistral Small and Mistral Large models. Function calling and JSON output are new features available for Mistral Small and Mistral Large. Mistral Large is now available through La Plateforme, Azure, and Anthropic's beta assistant demonstrator called le Chat.
